In this topic we are talking about an earthbound ghost. One which is closer to our vibration and thus co-exists with us.
This is a ghost that can interact with people. They display an intelligence of their own and can be seen or heard in a number of ways. More commonly, strange sounds and noises are heard, such as moving furniture, footsteps and voices. It is not uncommon to smell strange smells that are not the result of the people living in the house or the house itself. Also common are odours that would have accompanied this once alive person if the entity was recognized as a late relative. Example: cigarette/aftershave. The sense of smell is located in the same part of the brain where memories are stored. This is why, when you smell a certain familiar smell, it brings back a flood of memories. Some may be long forgotten memories from very early years.
Ghosts just love to trick, prank and scare people. This can be an absolutely terrifying experience for the person involved if not familiar with the supernatural. Just imagine lying in your bed at night and seeing a floating apparition with no legs at the foot of your bed, or having the bed sheets pulled off by an unknown force. Ghosts, from time to time, can show remorse when a family member is so scared that he or she asks the ghost to stop scaring them and in turn, have given up. But this normally only lasts a few days or weeks, so in time, the ghost will be back up to its old tricks again.
Because an entity takes on a form, it does not make it your late dead relative. There is a lot of mimicking going on from the other side and this is sometimes due to an entity using you as a way to gain access to your house and your lives. The entitiy's main purpose is to have a place to dwell, with a source of energy for it to use. This source of energy is your own! It is done by leeching your aura and draining your own energy output to keep itself in this dimension. It can also feed on emotional energy created by strong emotions such as anger, fear and stress to name a few. The entitiy creates disturbances to draw emotions from the family members living through the haunting.
Have you ever heard of Edwards or James van Praugh on TV? These men are reaching out at a very high vibration to receive these "other side" messages from the sixth dimension and up to where most of us will progress. We now live in the third dimension which is close to the forth dimension holding all the earthbound and demonic entities. This is called the astral realm/dimension and is home to things that were never alive. Things that pretend they were, and can take on the mask of a dead relative.

Interactive Ghosts!
I can recall many times were things would go missing only to show up later in the same place already looked. I have felt spirits crawl under me while pushing down the matress literally under me. I have felt pressure like I was being chocked on one occasion, I also had my side of the bed banged as did my spouse and money went missing only to appear at a different location and out in the open. I have been followed in my car and had my shoulder and arm gently touched. There was a time I went into my basement which nobody ever uses unless we do laundry and a small ball appeared right smack in the middle of my basement. Nobody knew how it got their (my dog has never been in my basement either).I have heard spirits chatting and I have also heard one cry. We also have experienced knocking on walls and curtain rods swing back and forth.
These are all classic haunting signs. I'm grateful that this no longer happens in my home.

Ex-husband ghost!
My ex-husband and I had moved into a home that was just finishing being built. We did'nt know the history of the land but it was right near water.
My daughter and I sat watching T.V at the time and a male and female spirit passed through my house, one walked passed the kitchen and the other upstairs. My daughter looked over and asked if I had seen the same thing.
That's not the weird part the male spirit was my very much living ex-husband. The spirit just appeared as him. Perhaps the female with him foretold what ws to come (we would go our seperate ways).
